About Me

Sandy Heyer

I am Sandy Heyer, a certified Diversity Manager & Trainer.

I support leaders, employees, and organizations through change processes – with empathy, structural awareness, and a diversity oriented perspective that provides orientation and creates connection.

My path into diversity work began right in the middle of everyday organizational life – where structures have an impact and change must not be understood as a project, but as a joint development process. These experiences continue to shape my work today.

How I work

In my work, I combine consulting expertise, empathetic facilitation, and moderation.
I create spaces for reflection, dialogue, and participation, and support organisations in not only considering different perspectives, but embedding them effectively.

My strengths include communication leadership, moderation, intercultural sensitivity, and the ability to guide people through complex change situations – clearly, respectfully, and without pointing fingers.

Keynotes & Moderation

Mental health and psychological safety in the workplace.

For me, mental health is not a marginal topic, but a key prerequisite for healthy, inclusive collaboration. I support organizations in strengthening mental health through impulses, formats, and strategies that foster psychological safety and create space for open conversations.

My many years of experience in internal corporate communications help me to make these topics accessible and effective at all organizational levels.

Keynotes & Moderation

Alongside my freelance work, I am employed full time at an international, highly regulated MedTech company as a Diversity Manager and Organizational Development Specialist.

This dual perspective – internal and external – enables me to deliver practical, realistic solutions that are strategically sound and feasible in everyday work.

What Drives Me

My conviction is that diversity, equity, and inclusion are not “nice to haves”, but fundamental prerequisites for healthy, future ready organizations.

These values must be visible – not only in words, but in structures,  processes, lived culture, and everyday interactions. DEI is not solely an HR or communications topic, but a cross-cutting responsibility at all levels of an organization.

My Approach

Practical rather than theoretical
I understand organizational realities and work in a solution- and impact-oriented way.

Warm & on equal footing
Real change happens where trust, openness, and dialogue are possible.

Individual & needs-based
Every organization is different – there are no one-size-fits-all solutions.
